IF INDULGENCE IS WRONG, WE DON’T WANT TO BE RIGHT.

Going against the grain isn’t easy, but watching people eat air-filled ice cream isn’t either.

We’ve rethought every process making ice cream "the easy way" in order to make ice cream "the way it should be" - translating old world techniques and methods and updating them to work in a modern production setting. Through creative engineering (and a little elbow grease) we’ve built entirely new machinery catered to our exact needs.

Nobody else makes the ice cream we do, and the proof is in every spoonful.

THE CROOKED WAY IS MORE FUN

We don’t inject air into our ice cream because…why would we? The only thing air does is take up space that could be filled with more rich, indulgent ingredients and mouthwatering flavors.

CERTIFIABLY DELICIOUS

We hold ourselves to another level of standards than most. This means using Fair Trade Certified ingredients, being Gluten-Free, using clean and simple ingredients, and maintaining a SQF-certified facility which is above and beyond when it comes to food safety and quality assurance.

These are the things that are important to us because they are important to you.

  • The Crooked Spoon manufacturing facility is certified by GFCO and all eight of our signature flavors are gluten-free. To ensure our products are gluten-free we use sanitation practices to clean between production runs, segregated storage, and we test each batch for gluten at an independent third party accredited laboratory.

  • All Crooked Spoon products contain milk and egg allergens. Our Fudge Brownie and Butter Pecan contains tree nuts. Our Chocolate Peanut Butter contains peanuts. Crooked Spoon has shared equipment between these allergens, but we utilize sanitation and segregated storage practices to ensure there is not cross-contact of tree nuts to products that do not contain these allergens.

  • "Tempering" our ice cream means letting it thaw outside of the freezer, either in the refrigerator or on the counter, for a bit in order to get the best texture and stretch from our ice cream. 10-15 minutes usually does the trick! If you really want to go the extra mile, 20-25 minutes in the refrigerator is our other preferred tempering time.
